Lots and lots and lots of snow...

Presents, by Nini

Tonight after the girls went to sleep, I felt an urge to get snow-geared up and run and jump into the snow that is everywhere here. It was so fun, and we even taped it - however, I accidentally deleted it - based on our recent snow fall - there will be more chances! The snow started early Sunday morning and hasn't stopped and has no plans to stop until tomorrow morning. I took this picture after arriving home from church:

This was at 3:15 p.m....and this one at 9:00 p.m. tonight:

...So I guess, no picnic or BBQ for awhile! Sassy, the girl's grandmother (Craig's mum) is coming to town on Tuesday evening, but since she arrives in Burlington - we are taking off for our cabin tomorrow night. We ended up having 8 leaks throughout the cabin, due to a faulty thermostat. It was an expensive lesson in managing recreational property that needs to be weatherized. Let's just say - we've learned it! Here is Craig out shoveling our front walk, I'm not sure why since it will probably be totally covered by morning!

Back-tracking a bit to Thursday, our drive to NY was without incident, we got what we needed done. We left around 3:00 p.m. to head home early because, yes, it was snowing again and I didn't want to get stuck anywhere. It was a long two and half hour drive, by myself, in a white tunnel visual affect - but we made it home safely.

Thursday:

Last week, I decided to dye my hair-again - because I felt it was getting a bit on the red side. Anyway, I did an awful job with it, so I've been trying to avoid close-up shots, but when you get your Christmas cards you'll see the bad dye job. With the new year, I'm heading straight to a friend's hairstylist to it right! The photo above was taken after the dye job and on Thursday before our trip to NY.

Friday:

I also finished my Pink Christmas Gift and am hoping that my last minute habits will still get it their on time for my pink gal. I know I'm not supposed to show it, but it's only part of it, and who knows what the rest of it looks like - it could be anything! I'm just excited to show this little part off, because I finished it! whoo hoo!

And, I made a huge pile of our family's favorite candy tradition: Cathedral windows. We made them every year as long as I can remember, they are easy and very good - especially if you like colored marshmallows...

I also managed to fit in a batch of cupcakes and grocery shopping before having to pick the girls up for school and get ready for the ward Christmas party...

We shared the party with the Chinese Branch that also shares our ward building. Our poor bishop had the committee over the party fall through. He ended up doing most of the work and busing people around - he was a bit flustered. But there was a fun atmosphere and lots of great singing and good food! Cat, her daughter and husband and Cici were sitting at the table with us...

Saturday we spent the morning at home, saw the movie Chipmunks, which my girls totally loved. It was cute, but I wouldn't pay to see it myself - unless I had the girls with me. We finally ordered our Christmas Cards and got new tires for our car on Saturday night.

Sunday:

Before our fun in the snow, we headed to church and found it quite difficult to get out of the parking lot - it must have snowed about 5 inches, plus the wind was blowing more snow through the parking lot, when we got home I tried to take a self-portrait and made myself a bit cold, can you tell? We spent the hour left of day light enjoying some quiet time at home and then got out the presents for other family members and got wrapping! Saturday night we did a date where I took Nini to buy for Craig and Cici and Craig took Cici to buy for Nini and me. Anyway, here is our self portrait while wrapping their presents. Nini and Cici smacked into each other today, causing them to trip and fall, so poor Nini has some cuts around her eye. But she took it like a trooper, sweet girl!

I will be away from the computer for at least three days, so everyone have a great week and enjoy your beautiful Christmas preparations! Can't wait to see all your traditions and fun!

Holy, that is a lot of snow! I hope you have some kind of plow or snow blower to help get all that shoveled! Have a good trip!

That is nothing like our snow. We are much lower humidity here, and the snow is very light usually. Plus we get chinook winds which clean away the snow about 1/month and then we start it all over again.

Holy white snow!! I think your hair looks good. Wind with cold I think is the worst combination. We had some 30 mile per hour winds Friday and it was so cold!!

Have a great week!

Bah! I want some of your snow!!! We must be on the cusp of snow here as it's freeeezing! But then the sun comes out and all the frost disappears. Suppose I mustn't grumble about the sun, though!

You are sooo busy! It's great that you have so much going on, and you seem full of beans for it all. I hope you have a great break.

Isn't it amazing all that we women can accomplish! I LOVE ALL THE PICTURES attached to this post! I can so relate to a bad hair dye - been there, done that far too many times! Thanks for the Chipmunks review; I have a few little boys who would love to see it! I cannot believe the snow! A pain, I'm sure, but it is beautiful! Hope your weekend is uneventfully fun!!!

I do not want to shovel it.
