The Power of Resolution.

...and the joy of defeat.

Resolution #1 of 6:
EXERCISE

When I finally crawled into bed yesterday, or today I should say, at 4:00 a.m. -I realized that I had been up all night, because I was excited about all the resolutions, goals, and plans I was making in my head for the new year. I am a big fan of the concept of starting new - Be always at war with your vices, at peace with your neighbors, and let each new year find you a better man. ~Benjamin Franklin. I find this quote very refreshing, especially the part when it talks about being a better man - or in this case woman!

One of my resolutions for the new year is to finally get over my defeat at last years failed exercise goals. I chose today to dawn my running shoes, which were actually boots - because most of the sidewalks weren't plowed yet! I can't say I was too excited about running in boots, in 15 degree weather and in almost a foot of snow, but I did - and I am a better woman for it. I am glad that I was defeated last year, because I plan on completing my exercise resolution this year. I hope that all you exercise and running enthusiasts will help me conquer this goal!

Did you add exercises to your new years resolutions?
Do you make resolutions and if you do, do you start them at the new year or before?

I went running today as well, but the temperatures were about 15 degrees warmer. You are the woman for running in boots. Not too sure I could tackle that one. Good luck with your goals!!

Happy New Year!

Michelle! Running in boots and 15 degree weather? I'm quite sure I would never be brave enough to take that on! Go YOU!

I also love the fresh start part of the new year. It seemed to sweep up on me so quickly, that I'm still sorting out what my goals are. You're inspiring! And thanks for my cute package in the mail. It's been so crazy, I'm a bit behind in the thank you department.

Are you completely insane!?!

I set an exercise goal, but I am doing it INDOORS where boots are not required; I use an aerobics video.

More power to you, you silly, brave, committed, and inspriring woman!

I can't be doing any running until after I have the baby...but walking more would be good. I am so out of shape, but was surprised at just how much walking I was able to do while we were at Disneyland last week.
My only resolution is to improve myself over last year. Every time I make major resolutions I fail, so I am keeping it simple.

Well, you are shooting down my reasons for not running right now. I have been fairly consistant with my exercise, so what I'm really looking for is a change, something new, to get me excited in the exercise area this year.

I love new year resolutions. They give you another chance without the guilt. BF quote is great-I'll have to remember that one. It's so fitting.
