$4 dollars well spent.

Every year, I like to take a photo of the girls on Valentine's Day, or around it, with a cute heart day type shirt. We've coined Valentine's Day at our home as Love Day! I like to buy them from the Gap, but felt that I want to try something different this year . While in NY, I picked up two navy blue tops with cute ruffle sleeves for only $2.00 each. If I couldn't find anything to do with them, at least they were cheap, and made from nice thick cotton.

I cut out two hearts and sewed them on the front 3/4 of the way, and then put enough stuffing between the fabric and the heart to make it look quilted when I sewed over it in zigzag stiching. I chose dark thread over the hearts to contrast it with the navy blue shirt color. I took thin ribbon on each shirt and using the zig zag stitch, sewed the ribbon around the neck.

I then folded the bottom of the sleeve over about an inch and secured it around and embellishing it with embroidery yarn and the bow and button comination. Lastly, I finished embelishing it with a few more buttons, and using an embroidery hoop, putting love on the right side of the heart. It took about 2 hours total and cost $4 dollars! I already had everything else in my craft area.

I found some great packaging form my petal patch items, although I need to change my labels to the new logo - although I still like the one in the photo. These I sold to one of my daughters ballet moms. My nausea is still going strong and I still don't have an appointment with anyone, although, it's not from a lack of trying. My friend is helping me get in to see a specialist which she says takes 4 months, she thinks I might be able to get in in 2 weeks! If you see my get thinner in the next two weeks, it's because everything makes me nauscious, my food staple right now is ritz crackers and anything that is white in color. White bread, crackers, spaghetti etc...

PS, so sad about Romney! What is a girl to do now, vote for someone she doesn't want in the white house, or hope that Romney will be chosen as the VP on the McCain/ Romney ticket?!! It took three times for Reagan to be elected - I'm not giving up on Romney yet!

Is your house decorated for Valentine's Day yet?
What did you think about the Romney news today?

Score on the shirts. You did a great job doctoring them up so cute.

Sadly I haven't even thought about Valentines Day and it's a week away. I guess I should start thinking......

thanks for your cute comment on my blog! Kat picked out her own fabric, at Pine Needles in Gardner Village if you ever make it out to SLC. It's Amy Butler (kat has fabulous taste). Oh and I feel the exact same way about Romney, so sad :( I have no idea who to vote for now! I love your little Etsy Shop!

I was very encouraged by your reminder that it took Reagan 3 times to be elected. I've had the blues all day about my beloved Mitt :(

WHY ARE YOU NAUSEOUS? I missed it. What's wrong. I hate feeling nauseated. Blech. (hugs) for you.

YOUR PETAL PATCH GOODIES ARE SO CUTE!!! I can't wait to order some leg warmers for Mimi.

And those Love Shirts! To die for. WAY cuter than anything to be found at the Gap, rest assured. Those are just too darling.

Chin up, Nausea Queen.

Your new logo is very cool and very pretty. Oh so pretty.

And way to go on the valentines shirts. You are one creative momma! I just pick out something red or pink and put it on my kids. I've never done official valentines clothes. Now I'm trying to think of something I can fandangle that will be cute like yours!

Luv the shirts for your girlies! No, my house isn't decorated for Valentine's day. We've all been under the weather and I had some great ideas...but, nothing has come to fruition yet. I even stashed a bunch of little valentines gifts to give each day and they are in my closet on the floor. Oh well. Yes, sad about Romney, but not a huge surprise. He did himself a real favor by backing out the way he did though and people are already talking about him for 2012! Feel better!
