Let little girls stay little girls.

There is nothing more heart warming than walking into the baby section of a clothing store. The ruffles, pinks, light colors, and adorable fashions just pull at my heart strings - and then, they grow past 5T and everything changes. Why is that a size 6 automatically changes little girls into sassy teenagers? Isn't it age 13 that a girl officially becomes a teenager? Save the wordy, bratty, tight clothes for later - let's just let girls stay little girls...

In a quick run in and see what's their moment, I ran across these cute shirts at Old Navy for $14.99 in the girls section. They had a few different colors, but these red shirts were what stole my heart. The skirts were $12.99 in the toddler section, thankfully my girls can still allow me a few stolen moments in the toddler/baby section as they can still fit into a 5T.

A quick note to record what we did this weekend. We headed up to Mt. Tremblant this weekend, the huge ski and play resort area for Montrealers. We'd never been their and since we weren't at our cabin this weekend we wanted to check off our list of things to do in this area. Isn't it neat!

Its pretty scary some of the clothes they make for little girls these days. I have seen a lot of way too grown up clothes on the first graders at the grade school here (things I wouldn't even let a teenager wear).

Michelle, Its a huge pet peeve of mine, how little girls are sexualized so young. My 3 year old does not need clothes with sequins or rhinestones or halters around her neck. It is just maddening to me. I literally started crying in Old Navy this summer when I saw the animal print string bikini in size 4T...

Those outfits you found are great! Right up my alley! They look totally botique-y and classic.

I could almost write a book on, the way I feel about the clothes, that are made for girls these days. It makes me sad to think, that our kids have to even see the stuff that they are selling these days. I do love the out fits you found! Your girls look darling! :)

I'm with you all the way with the size 6 clothes. What happened to decency? Land's End is how I solved that problem.

Have a fun weekend you busy girl!

I could go on and on and on. Wait until they are 8. Their is nothing out there. I love everything that is 5t and under, but the selection is horrible for everyone a little older.

So true! I love shopping for little baby girl clothes.
Thanks for your comment on my blog! You are very sweet. It is fun to meet music lovers!
Your blog is very uplifting. I loved reading the stories about your family.
I love Canada. I toured through British Columbia when I was in the BYU-Idaho jazz band. It was so beautiful (just like Alaska.)

Amen!

When I was pregnant with Aimee I was so excited to think about all the cute little girl clothes I was seeing, and then Kelly told me that it only lasts five years, and then it is all you can do to keep your girls from looking scanky in elementary school. YIKES!

Clothing for girls is painful... sorry to say it doesn't get any easier.... luckily shirts are finally long... it was ridiculous when the sleeves were knee length and the torso was 4 inches long!

Oh it is just gorgeous! I think I would love to go just about right now!

What beautiful pictures of your girls -so candid and sooooo cute! An awesome background, too! LOVE nature!

Even with the overcast, that bottom picture looks very inviting! It reminds me of the NW!

So true...and so sad. I noticed that in shoes too. Once my girls outgrew the toddler-size shoes, it seems that everything either had Hannah Montana on it or heels so high that they could break their ankles!

I agree, who decided that little girls should dress like mini adults? I don't want my teenage girls to dress in the fashions they have out either, WHY would I let my 4 yr old?
Cute outfits.
