Nine kids and downtown by train.

I really don't think that the fine people of Montreal had seen so many children in one group - outside of school groups. I can't find enough time to really document what I've been up to, but I am not frantic about it his as the girls go back to school in a week's time. Last summer, we didn't know many people, so I put the girls into a "get ready for kindergarten" group that was four hours a day, five days a week. This summer, with new found friends, we've been busy hitting local beaches, parks, and each other's homes for summer fun.

You must stop in to Leanne's blog. Besides my sister, she is the second person I "sold" blogging too - sis, you'll never go back will you?!!! Anyway - you must stop in and say Hi! She's so much fun and new to Montreal all the way from Queensland in Australia! Her link is on my sidebar. Anyway, I had been downtown several times by train already but neither Kristin or Leanne had been from our neck of the woods to downtown by train. So how better to try than with nine kids! We got a lot of stares, smiles, shocked glances, and a few who didn't know what to think. It was a lot of fun, the kids were awesome, and here are our photos for our little Montreal excursion:

I just love this photo of the girls looking in the window with their reflections. I captured this photo while we waited for one of the mums to return from a restroom break. I love their relaxed expressions and that they were all looking into the glass. It just was really sweet.

This photo would have been so perfect if it hadn't of been for Nini who refused to join in the fun of taking a photo among this life-size advertisment they had in the mall. It is even better in real life! This was all I could get out of Nini...

...it looks like she's saying to me, "don't you dare take this photo" - but I know her better! This is her completely embarrassed look she gets. I'm not sure why she felt this was embarassing - but boy did she!

We had a good 20 minute wait on the way back from our trip to downtown. We all seem to get along so well, the kids, the mom's - it's been such a joy to find friends in a city that used to be so foreign to me!

Are you new to an area?
Does it take you long to make friends?
What is the hardest thing about moving to a new area?

I am not nearly as social as I should be. As long as I have my family I'm usually good. My daughter in law Lisa who lives just minutes away is one of the best friends I've ever had. We enjoy doing things together so much and with my three little grand daughters that I never really need other friends. The funny thing is, Lisa is so much like me that way. It looks like you all had a great time. I'm glad you have found good friends to spend time with!!

hi, michelle:)
the only time i have ever moved away was when i was in college.
i was born and raised/have birthed and am raising right here:)
i don't think i would have a problem moving, though; and when john retires we may do just that.
your venture looks like it was incredibly fun. i love the reflection photo (too bad nini didn't take part)!!!
i hope you are having a lovely weekend!!!
love,
dani

How fun to have your sister move to Montreal! So great! Or, did I misunderstand and it was only a visit?

Yes, it is fun to watch people's reactions when you go somewhere with a load of kids.

Looks like a fun day with with friends! The hardest thing about moving is the finding of new friends and finding your way around.
