Can you believe it is already Fall? Hello - where does the time go? I am not doing my SPT today, mainly because I have no way of taking a self portrait right now and because life is getting busy-wait - is staying busy! The is my 2nd week with Craig out of town on business - he leaves for three days and than is home for the rest of the week. Not a big deal, but as I've mentioned before - I don't get as much sleep when he is traveling!
I haven't spoken about my infertility appointments since my last IUI in Janurary of 2008. It is very disappointing to not succeed and I simply gave it up until July of this year. I was heading down to Vermont for my appointments. It was taxing on our family to drive two hours for each apointment. A friend directed me to a clinic here in Montreal where I have switched my records too. They are just wonderful and I am already feeling good about this clinic.
They did my blood work-up and egg reserve test and all is evidence that there isn't any reason that I shouldn't be getting pregnant. They did a sonohystriogram two weeks ago to test my tubes and look inside my uterus. They found polyps (again) attached to the most easily fertilized spot inside my uterus. In other words, this could be the reason for the IUI's not working. I am waiting for final confirmation, but I will be having a Hystroscopy, most likely October 2nd. This procedure requires no cutting, but they do "put you under" and either scrape or cut out the polyp using a scope. It's all still quite invasive, but maybe the third time is a charm! I had this same procedure done in 1999 and 2001.
Recovery should be quick, most likely sore for a couple days, but this isn't a major surgery. I am very hopeful that things will work out positively and soon we will be celebrating! I'll keep you updated on the surgery date and progress afterwards.
