Missed Summer Moments.

This post is very important to me as there have been so many missed moments this summer that I haven't been able to record yet...

But first this weekend...

The girls decided that on their dates with Craig the following weekends that they wanted to go to M. golfing. When we headed down to Acorn Cottage this weekend, the girls were very excited to recreate there miniature golfing experience with me. It was so fun, as it was one of those family events where everyone got along great, listened, and enjoyed every minute! It rained right after we finished, so the ski jump place was out of the questioned. Instead we went back to the cabin and introduced the girls to the Princess Bride! Such a fun movie!

Finally a date...

My good friend Kathy took our girls for one night earlier in August. She was the same friend who took them when we went to London. Both had a good time, but one of my daughters was much distressed most of the time during our short absence and in Kathy's good nature - she wanted to show her that she could have fun at a sleepover. We took them one Wednesday night after the missionaries popped over for dinner around 7:30. I love Gary Oldman (otherwise known as Beethoven!) and wanted to see the new Batman movie. We headed to the local theatre here and caught a 10 p.m. movie.

Before the movie, we took in a little pin bowling. The theatre is equipped with an arcade, bowling alley, and bumper car area. It was fun to catch a few games and bowling and sit down and watch a movie knowing our girls were safe. We didn't get home until 1:00 a.m. - ouch! The girls in the morning both had a blast of fun and Kathy was excited that they had a good time at her home.

A day at the beach...

We have been having a great time with these bunch of sweet kids this summer. It hasn't been very sunny but we picked a great day that was mostly sunny and not too hot to hit Beach Zotique outside of Montreal in the St. Laurent River.

It was a fun beach with straw umbrellas and three playgrounds and even a wade pool in the back part of the park if you didn't want to hit the beach. Leanne has been such a life saver with her camera this summer. After Craig's sinking incident in Mirror Lake, I've been cameraless on these outings, as I don't want my Nikon stolen. Cici and the other girls loved putting the sand all over their arms!

Weekend mommy/daddy daughter date...

It was time to head out on the 2nd weekend of dates with our girls. This time it was Cici and I and Nini and Craig. The girls were very excited about their dates, but this time we found that they really had a hard time leaving each other. As you can see by their photo above!

Nini and Craig headed to Acorn Cottage. Nini wanted to recreate the weekend that Cici had with him, which wasn't a bad idea as it was all things that Nini hadn't done before. They headed to the ski jump center in Lake Placid and even headed up the gondola ride - which, Nini wasn't to sure about! They went miniature golfing and had ice cream before heading home!

Cici and I had a movie night on the Friday of the dates, and then headed to the mall the next day. We had fun walking to and from our destinationas and heading swimming at the center of town, where we ran into Leanne! That was a fun treat. Cici and Nini slept with me the night of their date, which is quite the treat for them. As you can see, Cici had not trouble making her self at home in the center of the bed!

BYU-Idaho dancers...

At the beginning of August the Montreal Stake hosted the BYU-Idaho dance team. Our family volunteered to host two students for the two nights they were here. D.D. and McKenzie were assigned to us and we were grateful for their sweet spirits and sweetness towards the girls. I really enjoyed the dance performance, they did a fantastic job!

Westmount Park...

The week before school started we headed with our little group of friends to Westmount Park in downtown Montreal of Sherbrooke Street. They have this little stream that runs through the park and so, of course, we let them put their feet in it! They had fun...but I did bathe mine when we got home! Thanks Leanne for the photos again!

Labor Day Weekend Shopping...

To be honest, our attempt at a before school vacation was solely for the purpose of shopping for school and winter. We headed to Maine and did exactly what we intended! I've never taken a photo of us arriving at a hotel before, so I snapped the photo of the girls waiting for Craig to come in with the rest of our luggage. The girls goofing off at the gas station and of course, me in front of Target. A few looks - but who cares!

And now...

I end this very long missed moments post with this photo Craig snapped while we were sitting together in our office. This is where we end up on most nights, side by side at our desk - his docking station and our home computer talking, doing finances, and laughing at something he must have said!

Do you need to do a missed moments post?
Are you enjoying the school year?
Did you really read all of this?!

Good Heavens, Michelle!

What a catch-up post! I can see why you would want to document them all, it would be a crime to lose them. It was a delightful read, and your girls are getting so grown up. Too many great photos to chose a favourite, although the hugging sisters is pretty hard to resist! I'm so glad you played catch-up!

Did you really read all of this? That was such a funny one. I loved all of the events. A rich full summer. That picture of you at the desk is so cute. I want to go minature golfing. I haven't done that in years. Fun to read your missed posts. I have some, but I don't know where to start. Thanks.

Michelle, this wasn't too long at all. Of course I may not be much of a judge. You know how long my posts usually (all right more like always) are. I loved all the pictures. And it was fun seeing all you have done this summer. I'm jealous of your trip to Maine. One day I really want to visit the whole Eastern part of the Country.

There's something about the catch-up posts. I have quite a few odds and ends pictures that never went with a story, but would be fun to write about.

It looks like quite a full summer - full of great moments.

What a fun filled summer. I have been very bad at keeping up with my posts, I'm afraid mine would have to be 3 times as long as yours just to catch up.
We are loving school so far!! Lets hope this can last the whole year:)
