Telling their birth story.

I love that adoption is a part of our family. It was about this time 33 years ago that I was adopted; and like my daughters, I was adopted with my sibling. I was blessed that my parents were always open with me and answered every question I ever had. There are times when I know my girls struggle to understand their birth story. When these moments occur, I hope that I answer them in a way that they can absorb and put some place in their mind for later. After all, it's been a long time since I was a little girl struggling with my identity!

And your girls are blessed to have YOU! How special that you can truly understand their questions as you know how they feel first hand.

I have more than a few close relatives that have adoption stories of their own. One relative always told her children they were "chosen!" I love that!

How wonderful Michelle that you'll always be able to relate to your girls on such a personal level. It may be difficult now but years down the road they'll look to you for answers and you'll be able to comfort them and know their feelings better than anyone else...and what a tremendous gift and blessing that will be!
