Living in our old home means giving up something I've used since I could open a door (est. around age 18 mos?!) Every door, save a few that serve as exterior doors, have these colonial latches. It took a few months to get used to using them, but now we are old pros. This photo is in the boys room. I didn't show the wall, as it is still flower wall paper, tastefully done, but not fitting for little boys!
The jackets are from The Children's Place, and the rusty star garland I picked up at a local consignment shop.

Our house is pretty basic. It is a bit old, but not really. 1934 isn't old compared to your house.
The one unique thing about our house is the doorway (there is no actual door) between the kitchen and the living room is arched. I love it.
Those latches are pretty darn cool! At least the boys won't figure out how to use them easily and escape the house when they get a little older. That was the down fall of our house when we built it. Our handles are too easy to escape with.
Okay, that is just plain coooool.
I would love to hear the rattle they must make as you open and close them.
Those are fantastic. With my luck I would get myself stuck in the bathroom...or worse, out of the bathroom. :)
