"I want to dunk like Michael Jordan!"

I love dreams, especially when they come from the young.  It's proof that we all dream of things that are far beyond our reach at that moment.  It's proof also that that even the youngest find comfort with what tomorrow may bring.  I especially find it amazing when a young child's dream doesn't change.  I can recall wanting to be a ballerina, to a great violinist, to painting the french countryside (for a living, of course) - all within a couple years!  Yet when someone young sticks with their dream, works on it, and daily talks about it - you know it's special!

I have a photo of my oldest twin daughter at age 3 running after a basketball with a face so focused, you knew this girl wasn't going to let that ball get the best of her.  Year after year, she continued to show interest and skill and now at 10 - she's a force on the court!  She proudly hangs her favorite basketball player on her wall (thanks to a 2012 Christmas present). Her goals are as follows:  Be the first girl to play on a men's NBA team and to dunk like Michael Jordan!  I believe it and i hope she keeps dreaming it!

“I’ve missed more than 9000 shots in my career. I’ve lost almost 300 games. 26 times, I’ve been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I’ve failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed.”

- Michael Jordan

Well said, Mr. Jordan!
