During the spring and summers in Montreal, there are several Marche's selling everything from vegetables, to sausages, to flowers. It's quite a contrast from the winter, as this Market above is non-existent and most of the other markets are closed or go inside. It's very much like shopping in Europe where there are speciality shops; one for bread, flowers, vegetables, pastries. It's one of the many reasons why I love the summer here in Montreal!
The photo above reminded me of a quilt! LeeAnne, my friend who moved here from Australia, picked me up today and we headed to Marche Centrale, otherwise known as the Central Market. We picked out some flowers and had lunch at the Bistro inside. The flower market extends much farther than the photo describes. What do you think of my Flower Market Quilt?
I haven't been blogging because Craig has been out of town and I just had other things to do - like watching SYTYCD, and cutting out 5" squares for four quilts for our ward's humanitarian project. Fortunately, he returns in a couple of hours - so tantrums, drama, and "I miss daddy", will soon be over! Whew!

Okay, I have your solution for the tantrums: when they wind up and you can see one coming, stick a tutu on their head (like in the previous post) and laugh.
Wa-la!
And THOSE FLOWERS! They seriously DO look just like a quilt!
I'm a little irked, though, that you didn't photograph your lunch (a la Jill) so we could all envy your bistro food.
so pretty. it totally looks like a quilt. what is SYTYCD? is that a canadian thing?
and ya, i'm with crystal, where's the pic of lunch?
What a pretty flower market--definitely a happy place.
I'm a little late in seeing SYTYCD this season, but after catching some of it last night, I think I may be hooked.
I've been out of the blogging loop for a bit ...
I love the flower quilt. So pretty, and such a sight for sore eyes after your winter, I'm sure.
The blue tutus are fantastic! They're so vibrant and fun.
And, I would love an invite to your private blog!
THose flowers are soo pretty! I love that you get a taste of Europe when you shop. How fun.
I am with you sister on the hubby being gone. I am in the same boat with you and it is not going to be pretty next week!
hey I am with Crystal a photo at this moment of something succulent would be amazingly welcoming. OH...i STILL have a chile relleno i made...goody. Oh the flowers look amazing and what fun to have this contrast from a cold cold winter...how refreshing....i haven't been in Montreal since I was like 7 years old....LONG LONG LONG OVERDUE!
I bet Montreal is a beautiful place in the summer...the flowers are amazing.
How fun to shop at the center market. That kind of lifestyle would be so fresh and fun...a drastic change from just our grocery store shopping. I'd sure welcome it!
It looks so European. BTW a mountain lion was spotted on Sat behind my fence. I am freaking out because of my dog. Apparently it ate a dog in Draper heights.
I love outdoor markets too. It really is a completely different shopping experience.
Those flowers are wonderful!
Oh that is so Beautiful! I would love to go there...
How fun..
Beautiful! I do miss going to the market in France to buy fresh fruit and vegetables. It's such a fun atmosphere and everything always smells so good!
