When I was 10, my family ventured in our truck and travel trailer north from Washington state to British Columbia. Me, my brother, and older sister were excited about one thing - swimming. We stayed in several campgrounds along the way, but did not get to stay in one that had swimming until we were way up somewhere in B.C. As soon as my father backed our trailer into our camping spot and leveled out the trailer, all three of us threw our bathing suits on and headed for a nice dip in the lake.
We were smart enough to test the water first. Our big toes touched the water and quickly pulled them out again; however, I wasn't about to give up. I put my entire foot in the water, than my other foot, and slowly inched my way into the lake. It felt like hours, but was probably only a good ten minutes - I stopped at my knees. I thought for a second about diving head first into the water, but rationalized my way back to the dry land. Diving head first into the lake could have been completely stupid and naive, but being to cautious stole what could have been an even better story to tell.
This is my first blog - I finally took the plunge. I've thought too long about a blog, too often about starting one, and too much about the cons of keeping one going. This is my way of diving in and letting myself experience success or failure. Join me as my blogging adventure begins!
