I have finally given out my first friendship pillow! I was so excited! I've made three, but my poor niece Abby still hasn't received hers. I'm am such a procrastinator when it comes to mailing (IE the present I still haven't sent my dad - March 11th was his birthday!) However, with good mail and the friendship pillows, I hope I will get myself a little more organized - OK a lot more!
Kathy was my first friendship pillow recipient! I don't have a photo of her, but here is why I gave her a pillow:
1. She was the first person I met in Montreal.
2. The first person to invite me into her home in Montreal.
3. She reminds me of my sister, and calls weekly when Craig is traveling and even when he's not
4. She is one of the most genuine people I've met.5. Her children, love my children and when they play together it's loud, crazy and fun - just like friends should be.
6. Her and her husband are our home teachers and have never missed a month (After 14 years of marriage - they've broken the longest running home teacher visits record for our family)
7. She is always serving someone else- always!
8. She has the best ideas for her children and is always inviting us to share.
9. She always has the best answers and comments at church, kind thoughtful and always spiritual.
10. My girls talk about her more than they talk about her kids - she must be awesome!
Stay tuned for more pillows, good mail, and sewing a skirt with my daughter!

That's a really cute idea and a sweet tribute to your friend.
Hi I am Melinda and I got your blog off of Jills. Your girls are soo darling! I was interested with your blog becuase I can relate to some of your same things. My husband also travles for work and it is really hard on our 5 kids and me. I love your idea with the calendar and the pictures. We will have to remember that one. We are in the process of getting the video cams to set up. My hubby goes about 3 times a month and can be gone just over night like he is now or for a week. It's rough and I am sorry you have to deal with it also.
Where is So CA did you live? THat is where I grew up. We are planning on taking our kids to dland this fall for our babies first bday.
Hope you survive while your husband is gone. Good luck!
Oh, Michelle, I'm guilty of procrastinating with mail too. Apologies to Lelly! I love the fabric you've used. I can almost smell those florals!!
