My daughter asked me, "Why does Sassy(their grandmother) have to leave today?"
I replied, "Because she has to go to work."
I then added, "Are you going to work as hard as Sassy when you grow up?"
She replied, "No."
"As hard as mommy?" I pushed.
"No." she said with a sigh.
"Daddy?" I asked further.
Tired of my inquisition of work, she replied matter of fact,
"No, I just want to be a cowboy."
Later today we said goodbye to Craig for five days while he attends a work conference up past Park City. I am always reminding the girls that even though daddy is gone, they can still be themselves. They can still have fun and that I love them no matter what. After saying all of these things to them they same little cowboy replies:
"You love your little cowboy sweetie pie!"
I always take a picture of the girls with their daddy before he leaves, so that they can remember him in that moment. This with a calendar helps a great deal when dealing with daddy's who have to travel.
Saturday we headed to the girls favorite spot, Thanksgiving Pointe. Here are the girls waiting to ride the pony's.
After Thanksgiving Pointe we headed to Cabella's, a sportsmen wonderland of everything you my husband could ever want. Somehow, I found a few things there, including some really good fudge and a pair of "Life Is Good" capris. Really cute!
Craig took me out to Biaggi's and to a stop at Anthropologie where I got this and maybe a couple of other things! That evening on the way home, Craig said that he had to stop in at my parents to pick up something he had loaned my dad. My girls and Sassy had picked up a cake and taken it to their home. When I walked in the door, they surprised me. Seeing as they were supposed to be in bed at 10 p.m., I was quite surprised - but very happy to seem them. They were a bit tired, but it was an enjoyable birthday all the same!
I started my 100 list here with 34 things about me. What did you do this weekend?

That photo of your husband and the girls is too cute. Such a great idea to have a "fresh" photo around. Sounds like you are having a good time in Utah. Cabala's is a great store. We have one too. Isn't it funny how you can dine, shop for hunting stuff and eat fudge all in the same place?
Hope you had a great birthday!
cute pictures of your little cowgirls! my sister lives right near thanksgiving point and cabellas... I served my mission in Nebraska.. not a lot to "sight see" there.. but the Cabellas.. that was pretty popular with the elders!
Have fun and enjoy!
It looks like your having a fun time in Utah! Cabellas is so fun to walk around. Fun that you found some capris! Happy Birthday to you! I enjoyed reading 34 things about you.
Can't relate to that restaraunt but we all hope you had a happy birthday here!!

I think it's a great idea that you take a picture of Craig and the girls each time he leaves on a trip. It's great for them but I also think it will be cool to see their progression over the years and to have so many cute photos with their dad. You just need to make sure they have lots with you too.
Score on the shopping and birthday dinner. I hope it was good one.
Oh what sweet cowgirls you have. Thanksgiving point and Cabellas is so fun. Love the pictures :)
Your girls are soooo cute! I love your b'day 34 too. Maybe I should start with 32 about me on my b'day next month, since I never posted my 100.
All the (local) girls in our family went to the New Orleans Museum of Art this weekend to see the "Femme, Femme, Femme" exhibit. Luci loved it!
Happy Birthday! It was fun to read your list of 34. So what does your husband do that takes you around the world and keeps him traveling so much?
She got her wish, if only for a moment. She looks like a really cute little cowboy.
I love that: I just want to be a cowboy. She is adorable! I love all of the pictures.
I love listening to children. They always have fresh, honest answers and don't worry about answering 'correctly.' I love your little cowboy pictures. And what a great idea to take a new photo each time Daddy has to leave for a while. I am sure that helps them feel better.
Craig always looks a hoot. You've got great girls there, Michelle. Reminds me of a boy I knew when I was little who told me that when he grew up he wanted to be a kite. Eh??
That cake looks v.squidgy. What a lovely surprise.
I found your blog through another blog- isn't that how it alwyas works!
I have a little boy who always keeps me on my toes! I love the thought of just wanting to be a cowboy! You never know what will be said next!
I also saw your pillows! What a GREAT idea! I know the individuals who receive them feel very special!
