I feel comfortable in saying I have many talents, yet coordination, let alone color coordination is not a talent I posses. Since a young lass I was prone to matching plaids with polka dots because there are like colors in each pattern - so why not wear them together. When it comes to decorating, I am exactly the same way. I can paint, but hate to choose paint for the walls, because I know I'll over create and it will come out looking like I was color blind. It's a problem, I know, but one easily remedied by my husband who tastes are very classic old Virginia style.
With the SPT challenge being all about my favorite color, I became slightly frantic since I can't really say I have a favorite. For instance, I love orange. I love orange in all things nature, flowers the sunset. It's amazing how such a vibrant color can be created through a plant. This photo was taken in 2005 at the Poppy Preserve near Lancaster, CA. Beautiful!
However, I don't love orange on my walls. When we arrived in Montreal we were asked to rent a home instead of purchasing one. We wanted someplace close to downtown where Craig's commute was short and sweet. His last commute was one hour each way, we didn't want to do that again. Out of all the houses we looked at, there was only one that fit our criteria perfectly. The owner of the home had painted the kitchen orange and red, a small price to pay for a great house in a great area of Montreal.
I love yellow! I can't say I wear much yellow, but my hair tends to sway toward the yellow side, the sun is yellow, and it's just a cheery color. This photo of the Van Gogh Cafe in France, 2004 is a example of how beautiful yellow can be.
With all these beautiful colors screaming at me to be their favorite, I am certain that if I had to pick a favorite color it would have to be green. I grew up with tall pine trees towering over our home. With all the rain we received in Washington where I grew up, it was always green. Green to me is peaceful, quiet, and when I see green, I see the outdoors. Plus, I look pretty good in green too!
Taken today outside our home.

What a fun post! The green trees you posted reminded me of the Sacred Grove. I too like the color green.
