We took the girls to a wonderful museum called OMSI. It's a hand's on children's museum with all sorts of things to do and see. They also have their own IMAX style movies called OmniMax Theatre. They even have an indoor play area where you can have your little ones put on galoshes and a smock and play in the water or in a large sand box. Check out a few pics from our day:
Up in space!
Bored waiting for the movie to start!
Picking up a snake! Craig would be screaming like school girl if it was real!
Water Play!
Supporting Self-Portrait Tuesday!
I am using this photo to support self-portrait Tuesday - even though Craig took the picture.
Although I live in Montreal, QC, the city in my self-portrait Tuesday is Portland, OR. I grew up just over the border into Washington State; the tall trees and cozy cloudy weather were a part of my childhood.
It was a great feeling being back on such familiar ground. It was the same feeling when we visited DC, California, and Utah. We once had a home in each of these places, and although we no longer reside in them, even when we are away from our physical home - we are at home. For our family, "home" is where we are at that moment.

This is the second post I've seen today for Portland, it looks beautiful. I may just have to book a trip there! I've also heard wonderful things about Montreal. A friend of mine lived there for a few years (I think they just moved away within the last year) while going to med school and I'm kicking myself for not visiting. How great that you lived in DC, it's my favorite place!
i love that you shared your thoughts about 'home.' but i really love that you refer to the weather as "cozy cloudy." i've visited the pacific nw on a handful of occassions, and loved it! i've often wondered if i would find the weather dreary, or cozy.
I LOVE Portland. We only lived there for two years but there is something wonderful about that city. I love the trees and the lush vegetation. Beautiful.
I haven't ever been to Portland, but I have heard amazing things about it. Great view and picture!
Wow, looks like a nice place to visit. Maybe we can go there again some day.
