I am a sad soul when it comes to downloading music onto my IPod. I don't mind the actual physical labor needed to download songs, it's the actual songs I am brainless at putting together. My husband, who seems to know every song ever written in the 80's, can't believe that I would have Justin Timberlake on my play list. I like to argue that I have my favorite singer Tom Jones on it too, but he doesn't seem to be too impressed!
He currently has 1300 songs and 8 movies, and me? I have a sad, sad 15 songs :-( After being razzed once again earlier this week about my IPod playlist, I decided to enlist his help in putting together a well-rounded playlist.

Here is a small selection of his choices:
* Holding out for a Hero; Bonnie Tyler
* Pulling Mussels from a Shell; Squeeze (I used to thin it said "Pulling mussels for Michelle!")
* Mr Jones: Counting Crows
* She's A Beauty The Tubes
* Mao Boy!; Indochine (French group)
* Don't Fear the Reaper; Blue Oyster Cult
* Hungry like the Wolf; Duran Duran
* Happy Hour; The Housemartins
+1292 more
Do any of these songs bring back any memories - possibly a Footloose flashback (admittedly I still love that move)! A dance you went to in the 80's? I am very appreciative of his choices and have selected quite of few of them already. Here's a sampling of what I started with:
And my playlist:
* Mika; Grace Kelly
* 40'; Franz Ferdinand (From the movie A Good Year - Russell Crowe!
* Maneater; Nelly Fertado
* Maneater; Nelly Fertado
* Stoned in Love; Chicane, Tom Jones
* Burning Down the House; sung by Tom Jones and The Cardigans
* Sway; Dean Martin
* What goes around...; Justin Timberlake
+10 more.
I have a tendency to like a song because of it's the musical qualities rather than the artist or genre. I play the gamut, but am horrible about remembering the songs. Although, I am married to the human juke box - so maybe I shouldn't be so hard on myself!
If you could pick one song for me to add to my playlist, what song would you pick? How would you rate your playlist?

I certainly can't pick just one song for you and am freaking out a little bit that you only have 15 songs on your iPod. I have 6605 on mine!

hi michelle: how fun to see your list. i am 38, so can relate to some of the songs listed. i loved that "footloose" soundtrack, too :)
i would add "you are the wind beneath my feet," from the "beaches" soundtrack, but i am not sure if that is the name of the song. i find it very inspiring and moving (the melody and the rise and fall in the singing voice and the way the words are put together).
oh yes, wordless wednesday is when you post just a picture (with maybe no words or maybe just a few words). the point is that the picture is the thing that gets you/moves you. your fog picture would've been a great wordless wednesday.
God bless ya and your girls :)
One BRILLIANT song springs to mind right now, as Erin leaps around to this all the time:
Nina Simone 'Ain't Got No/I Got Life' from the 'Remixed and Reimagined' album.
It's being used on a TV advert over here at the moment, so Erin knows it and tries to list all the things she 'ain't got' and then shouts 'I got liiiiiife!'
