Balance and good mail.

When my house is clean and my laundry finished, my goodmail is non-existent. When I'm sending goodmail and letters, my house is unkempt and my laundry - don't ask! Where am I now? A clean house and laundry caught-up, which means? Goodmail is at a a stand still. I know it's all about balancing and I think I'm getting better at it. If I can keep my house clean, then it will be easier to stay ahead of everything else!

I have been fortunate to receive some really wonderful goodmail from:

Natasha - Thanks for thinking of me on Mother's Day! It takes longer to get things here in Canada, but I did get it on Friday! Thanks so much, I just loved the stationary.

Barb - This was a really cute idea. Not only in implementing them on the shirts, but the packaging too!

I've taken on a couple of projects at church. The first are crochet dolls that will be sent to Africa to a charity that gives dolls to children of family's who's parents have died of AIDS. Most of these children are being taken care of by their grandmothers. I didn't get into the project until the end. They had several dolls that had not been finished: closing, stuffing, forming the legs, arms, and face. I took as many as I thought I could finish in two days and although on average I'm behind - I'm certain I'll be able to finish.

The second project is for a woman in our ward. Her sister started an orphanage in Zimbabwe. However, her sister and her two brothers were killed in an accident and the plans for the orphanage were put on hold. The woman in our ward is starting an effort to keep her sister's dream alive and our ward is taking on the project. We are collecting clothes for the children and are making blankets for them to send to the orphanage. The blankets will be the fleece blankets that you tie together. Walmart was liquidating their fleece inventory, so I ran and got enough for the seven children that will be living in the orphanage. The other thing I am going to pursue for our ward's effort will be to go to the Humanitarian Center while I am in Utah. When Craig and I flew to Russia we were able to collect two huge duffel bags of items to take to the girls orphanage as a donation. I am going to see if I can collect some items to help in our effort.

I also love a clean house. We are going to sell our house soon, so I have been busy cleaning it and getting ready for the sell.

WOW you are one busy woman. I think that is great how you get so involved. Crochet dolls are so cute. Have a wonderful day :)

It is so great to hear stories about people reaching out to help others. The crochet dolls are so cute. I'd love the pattern if you have it.

The Utah connection will probably be great for donations for the orphanage.

chell, these little dolls that you stuffed are cute, and your flowers are simply wonderful, I remember your determination of learning the craft before the children came home. All these flowers put together in a scattered pattern like a quilt sure would make a nice coverlet or back drop over a solid sofa and give it some charm or to brighten a room. There beautiful. See ya soon your mum in law.
