A tantrum can be called a lot of things. Such as,
A Fit.
A Hissy Fit.
A Tissy Fit.
A Conniption.
And to spruce-up the word tantrum you can add 'temper' in front of 'tantrum'.
In Australia the slang for 'having a tantrum' is "spat the dummy', sounds kind of rude to me, but none the less it means 'to have a tantrum'.
You can say your child is...
"In a rage"
"Angry"
"Having a hard day"
"Going through a stage"
You can blame...
yourself
your child
your husband
their age
the situation
or the dog (last resort)
You can say that you are...
tired of it
want them to stop
are in control
You can...
put them in time out
take a toy away
hug them
yell at them
or ignore them
When nothing else works you can...
cry
call a babysitter
call your mom and if she's your babysitter - even better
confide in a friend
read a "how to" book
At the end of the day...
Tell them "It's OK, tomorrow's another day"
Hug them
Laugh with them
Never let them fall asleep without a kiss and those comfortable peaceful words...
I Love You.

Yup, some days aren't so good but a hug usually makes things better.

Boy- I sure can relate to that! Happy Mother's Day!
You summed it up there. Sometimes I say to myself it's time to put this day to bed. I need a new day.
Yep, I can relate too. And I always love to go whisper "I love you" in both my babies' ears at night when they are sleeping. Have a wonderful Mother's Day tomorrow.
I never let my kids go to sleep without those comfortable, peaceful words!
