Rain, rain, rain, and more rain today. From 9:00a.m. to 4:00 p.m., I've been soaked. This morning I took the girls to their last day of swim lessons - in the rain - in an outside pool. I was wearing pants that got soaked to my knees, not because of the pool water, but because of the water coming from the sky. I took the girls to their pre-k camp and ran home to change, into shorts this time, so that I didn't have wet bottoms on my pants. It was cold, but it's better than being soaked.
I headed downtown to my dentist, that I seem to be seeing way too much. They finally replaced my three crowns with porcelain crowns and I was out by 12:15p.m. Then I hurried to get the girls at camp, make a quick stop at home, and ran to the move theatre to pick up our Harry Potter tickets (yeah!) we finally get to see it - we are so excited. The girls had an appointment at 2:00 p.m. with a specialist. I never know how much to disclose online, but they see a specialist to help them with some attachment issues that have arisen - it's everyday, which has been taking up most of our afternoons. We then headed to Walmart, the worst place in the world to go ever here, but I braved it anyway and ended up with no line and no fights! Definitely progress!
My parents arrive on Monday! The girls are just counting down the days, Cici wants to go shopping with Grandma, and Nini wants to skip with Grandad. My dad was looking at a map of where they will need to drive to get to our house, my mom said they opened the map and he said "Wow, they live in the middle of the city!" Thanks for finally noticing dad!
Anyway, I hope all is well with everyone, I love reading about your day and hope everyone has a great and wonderful weekend! I will be waiting for my next chance to sit outside on our deck and do this:
What are you doing this weekend?
I will be preparing for my talk on Sunday about Pioneers (I better get reading!)

I would love to get a little rain here just to cool things down. Probably not several days of it though.
I'm glad you got tickets to Harry Potter. We loved it. Umbridge was perfect. Are you reading the book this weekend? After you prepare your talk, of course!
Sorry that the girls are having some attachment problems. Aimee has always been independant. She went to nursery her first week at 18 months alone and never looked back. But just this last week about halfway down the hall she started to flip out! "Not go nursery! Mommy stay! Mommy stay!" She got herself so excited she threw up. All down me. I went to the bathroom and cleaned up, then we tried going to nursery again and I ended up staying with her. I have no idea what is wrong. While I was there she just ran over to the toy cupboard and played. Sang the songs, sat for the lesson, ate the snack. But every once in a while, she'd look up with an anxious face until she saw I was still there, and she'd go back to playing.
I hope this week is better since I have to teach Relief Society.
Its been raining a lot here too. We usually get some kind of a sun break each day during the summer though. In the fall is when we settle in for the non stop rain.
Send UTAH some rain, please?
I love all of these pictures. The close up of your girls with the umbrella is frame worthy! So cute! Sounds like you were WAY TOO BUSY and deserve to relax in the evening sun! Good luck with the talk!!!!
Sorry about your rain during summer. I haven't been to Walmart in over 2 years. I just can't handle that place. Love your deck picture!
Sympathies on the rain thing. We're just deluged with the stuff here. I'm sick of trying to stay dry. I've given up. The house is littered with things hung up to dry out.
What a pair of little old ladies they look under their umbrella! So cute!
Typical of a dad to make a comment like that. Next week should be busy and fun for you all, then! I hope the girls have a great time with their grandparents around.
I often say heck with the umbrella since my kids fight over it as well.
I was about to say the dentist again? Painful. Enjoy your parents company-how fun!
I'm so over the rain too, girl. Your girls are adorable. I'm glad you got the dentist over with. I hope you enjoyed Harry Potter. How fun! Good luck on your talk. I have given a talk on pioneers twice. It was in 2 different wards so the second one was easy breezy.
Ah, you flatter me. Well, I hope you get to return to your sunny deck soon. I'll be interested to hear about your talk - so many directions to go. The early church in Eastern Canada (John Taylor, etc) traditional crossing the prairie pioneers, and modern pioneers that are recent converts. Which direction did you go? Is there another angle I'm not thinking of? Oh, I hope we get pioneer talks in my ward tomorrow!
Darling pictures of your day in the rain! Good luck with your talk today! I am sure that you will do a wonderful job! :)
We just got back from Seattle. IT rain almost the whole time. But we still had a lot of fun. Good luck with your talk.
Hey my parents are here as well.
Wow! That looks like a cold winter day here in Mesa! Our monsoons have rolled in & we have had some storms -huge wind, dust storms like you can't believe, lightning, etc. Cute pix of the girls and you in the sun light!ciao
Love the pictures! whoever said the close-up umbrella one is frame worthy is right! Glad you got some sun this weekend. Today was a great day and tomorrow is Mary's 2nd birthday so no matter what the weather it will be good! Have a great week!
