Some snobbery, a bit of rude; but mostly fun.

Climbing to the top!

The girls have been home from camp this past week! I forgot how much effort it takes to keep my girls busy when they don't have a real place to be. We've been doing errands in the morning, eating lunch in the park, playing or going swimming in the afternoon. I have been told that with my infertility drugs I could gain about 5 to 10 pounds. This threat alone, has pushed me to walk, walk, walk! I can't run very well, because my baby toe can't handle being in tennis shoes - it's still very sore, unless I'm in sandals. We found a great park, I didn't know was only a mile from our home! It has two large playgrounds, plus a large waterfall the kids can climb on! We've been their twice, including today going their for a picnic lunch. We also finally discovered the local library - why didn't I find these two places sooner!

Cici sliding down pole!

I am working on my bargain post! I went by the April Cornell outlet store to purchase some Christmas gifts and the other apron gift set I promised to the best tip. I walk in and everything is 75% off, so I start going through the store and find four amazing dressing all about $10.00 each for the girls. I was so excited! Nini is dancing around because she has to go potty. So I walk up to the counter and ask, "Do you have a restroom?", the old woman at the counter looks at me strange, so I say "A toilet", often a "restroom" isn't translated very well. She replies,"No! We don't." I thought this strange since I have used the restrooms here several times so add, "Oh, but I've taken them potty here before?" She replies, "Well, we don't allow it anymore, we share the restrooms with other offices now." Now, the outlet store is a factory district with no public restrooms, I knew that if I couldn't find a toilet we would be in trouble. I plea my case,"But we've used the restrooms before, my daughter is about to pea all over the floor, are you sure I can't take her potty?" Another middle-aged woman who works there comes over and says, "We will just mop it up if she peas on the floor." And they both huff and turn their back on us. I take the dresses back to the rack saying out loud, "That was rude, very rude!" And we walk out of the store without the dresses. My my! What a morning - this was before 10:00a.m.!

Nini can now do the bars very well!

I guess if they had been more apologetic and explain why when we've used the restroom before, why we can't use it anymore. And be a little less - let's see - snobby about it - I would have taken it better. I felt bad because the girls have talked about it all day, but I still stand by my decision to walk away. Plus, I still had to get Nini to a bathroom. Luckily the traffic was good so we were able to get home and inside before an accident.

That is so RUDE! I can’t believe they wouldn't let you young daughter use the restroom.

I can not stand shops that do not provide a restroom for their customers. It is rude and annoying. Both Lily and Jack have major medical problems relating to their bowels. One time at the mall I ran into a drop in daycare knowing that they had a restroom. I told them that I frequently use their daycare and I needed a bathroom NOW. Luckily the guy was very nice and let me in.

That is very rude. What crawled up her bum anyways? I probably would have been honory and acted like my daughter was going to go right there!

Cute photo of you and the girls.

It's insane to me that you were treated that way. I wouldn't go back. It always hurts my heart when someone is treated that way.

I saw a movie once with a character from Montreal. She was beautful and the guy in the movie was trying to talk to her. She was rude and shut him down very abruptly. She walks away and his friend comes over. "What is her problem?" guy number one askes. his friend replies, "Oh, Monique is French Canadian. When she is Canadian, she can be very sociable and pleasant. Today, she is obviously French." You're encounter instantly brought that movie bit to mind.

I almost wish your story ended with pee all over their floor to see what they would do -I guess they were born as adults and were never children, huh!Cute pix!!

I feel like I've missed so much! Sorry about the fertility drugs weight gain side effect! It's never fun to feel bloated and blah! I do appreciate your half full attitude! It sees me through A LOT! Very cute pictures inspite of the RUDE women at April Cornell! It's good to be back in blogland!

She should've pee'd on the floor! At least you could've said, "I told you so!!" The French (Quebecois) can be like that sometimes.

I don't understand how people can't treat other people like that, especially with kids! They were kids once too, plus everyone knows that when you've got to go, you've got to go!

Cute self-portrait!

I would have been upset too. I just can't imagine treating others that way. I would have done the same thing, put the items away, and left. April Cornell is one of my favorites though! :)

bummer about the dresses, but I would have done the same thing. that would make it hard to even go back and shop there.. even though.. that is a great store!

Wow, that was rude. Good for you for not buying from them and just walking out.

When people act like that I want to just call them on it and ask why they have to be like that, maybe next time I will.

I came across your blog from Kristi. That is so lame about the ladies at the store. Glad you stood your ground and left. I too don't undertand how people can be so rude. What's the big deal of letting alittle girl use the restroom anyways!
I so love the your girl power photo- such cute girls!

What rudeness at the store, wow!

Glad you discovered the library - it was a lifesaver for us, esp. Luci, this summer.
