Thank you to everyone who could believe that I actually made those hats on my last post! No I didn't, they are a bit too intricate for me. But I did make the one my daughter is wearing above!
I just love all the beautiful and inspiring stories that are shared during the holidays. Through the years I have collected many and it has been a tradition to share one story at bedtime everyday before Christmas during the month of December. I am carrying this tradition onto my blog starting December 1st. I will place each story in it's separate post so that it can be easily labeled and found.
To celebrate the 1st day of December and all that it brings - I will be having a Christmas giveaway every Friday until the 28th of December - which will be the last. My first giveaway is for one of the tiny star boxes above and 2 bars of delicious dark chocolate! My second will include a crochet hat like the one above, which I will display at next Friday's giveaway. For this giveaway, simply tell me what your favorite holiday song is and why and I will pick the winner on Monday, December 3rd. To Carlo and Nicole who one my last contest - I haven't forgotten! Next weekend we are going to the states, so I will be able to send your prizes then! Sorry for the delay my friends :)

Wow, that is hard one to pick just one favorite Christmas song. I think my favorite is O Holy Night. Just talking about the Saviors birth. I get so choked up every time I hear it. It was such a divine and holy night.
I have 2:
1-"Last Christmas"--by Wham. Just really 80's and cool. =)
2-"Breath of Heaven"--Love it.
P.S.

Oh Michelle, I have missed so much! I've been so out of it with illness over here, but I am back and excited to get caught up on everyone's blogs! I am loving all the pictures in LONDON! What an amazing trip! ANd that picture on the last post of you and the girls is darling! You're so cool to do these contests! I love the star boxes and would say my favorite Holiday Song is Ava Maria, song by Harry Conick Jr. Why? Because his voice is to die for and just zings my soul just so! :)
What delicate little boxes. What a fun idea. I can't wait to read your stories.
Carol of the Bells is my all time favorite. It's magical to me.
I cannot have a favourite. There are too many that make my heart sing. I just can't choose. So I will do the oposite. I hesitate to use the word hate, but I simply cannot stand the song Grandma Got Run-over by a Reindeer. It bothers me so much. I don't mind if a Christmas song is fun instead of beautiful. Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer, Jingle bell Rock, Frosty the Snowman...they all have their place. But that Grandma song really irks me. Violent Christmas images are not my thing.
Typing this got me all wound up and frustrated I dislike that song so much!
Mine is the Forgotten Carols cd, but I have a lot of other favorites as well.
Cute little boxes!
Hmmm...favorite Christmas song. That is incredibly hard. I love most Christmas music.
As far as Christmas Hymns, probably Silent Night. Regular Christmas songs...I really enjoy a wide variety...so I can't choose.
Okay, you totally need an etsy shop to sell those hats. I'd be your 1st customer!
Silent Night is my favorite song at Christmas. Reminds me of Christmas Eve Mass with my family.
What a brilliant thing to look forward to throughout December!
Gosh, right now my favourite Christmas song, which I cannot stop playing all the time, is Aled Jones singing 'Still Still Still' (from his Christmas Album).
I hope you know it, or can find a version of it online (I've got it on Napster), because it's just so beautiful. This year, as a church, we've focussed on Advent and how it is a period of waiting and preparation - and Still, Still, Still just fills me with that calm pensiveness that Advent requires.
Are you kidding? You're giving away one of your precious tiny boxes? That's going to earn you some seriously good karma. :)
I love old traditional French carols, and I canNOT pick just one! I love-love-love "Angels From the Realms of Glory." Also, "Angels We Have Heard on High." That one gives me goosebumps. "Il Est Ne, Le Divin Enfant," & "Bring a Torch, Jeanette Isabella." And this one's English, but "Wexford Carol" is beautiful, too.
I just love the theme for the polar express movie, and I love josh groban so that would be it for me...what a fun post
fun give aways... okay one of my favorite christmas songs.. you most likely haven't heard.. my grandma wrote it... it goes to the tune of the Chipmunk song..
I think I have mentioned before.. I have a ton of cousins.. and grandma wanted us to remember everyone... and more importantly our Savior...(all the names are the cousins.. when a new "set" of cousins was born a new verse would be added.. it is a pretty long song now- I think like 7 verses!)
Anna, Cami.. Lauralee...
Megan, Isaac and Carly..
Clinton, Aaron, Can you tell?
Do you know the story well?
How the little baby laid
cradled on the manger hay?
Born on earth our Lord is He
on that first christmas morning!
have a great weekend.. and love that hat!
I still have two birthdays to go before I can even begin to think of Christmas.
Cheers
Of course you crochet that hat - it has your signature daisy! Love it.
