#4. The last catch-up post, rest up!

Some good Salt Lake Eats!

East Coast Subs off State and Vine (52nd south)

How many people have been to East Coast Subs in Salt Lake County? If you haven't tried them, they have the best Cheese Steak and Philly sandwiches around, with fries and dipping sauce. I have to have at least one of these sandwiches before leaving Utah, check it out if you haven't gone. The other good thing is they have coke and pepsi - your choice!

Self-Portrait at Cafe Rio (my bad side, Jenn, and the girls)

I took my sister to Cafe Rio on Thursday of last week, let's just say there's another fan out their and believe it or not, she finished an entire Barbacoa Port Salad! Go girl! I still can't believe they don't have one of these in Texas, especially with all the restaurants in the Houston Area. We also hit some of my favorites, Quilted Bear and the Distribution Center.
Relief Society Building

We also made a huge effort to go downtown to the Relief Society Building, it's the woman's organization of our church. In the basement is a stock of enrichment ideas all on large poster board with pictures for relief society, primary (children), and young women's - personal progress and activity night. I felt that there was a lot of information that could be taken and transitioned into your own wards. If you get a chance - you should go check it out.

Sassy's help with my bridesmaid dress!

I know this isn't the most flattering portrait of the girls grandma Sassy, but it's silly and that's her! Thanks to Sassy, my dress was finished literally in time for the wedding. We finished the snipping of threads and pressing in between the wedding and the reception, since we didn't have to wear them at the temple. I had already sewn most of the dress, but needed to hem the neckline and then Sassy sewed the zipper - thanks heavens! I must admit I will never have cause to wear this dress again. However, I have recently purchased another pattern so that I can sew a dress for church and the Holidays. It's much simpler and hopefully I won't have so many problems with it. I'll keep you informed of my progress!

It looks like the wedding was so beautiful! What a wonderful time to be able to share with family. The photos are great! I too have a huge LOVE for Quilted Bear! I will be e-mailing you tomorrow. I have a few questions before I solder up these necklaces. I want to get them just right.

You are a real seamstress. I just pretend. I make the effort once a year for Halloween costumes and that is it. And I cheat on the pattern and don't do all the extras; for example, I've never lined a hood. Sewing a dress is so far beyond me that it is silly. I cannot imagine thinking, "I'll just go get a pattern and sew something new to wear." Good for you!

Crystal, You can take pictures and they have handouts for primary stuff, but the rest you have to write down on your own paper or take pictures of the poster boards. Hope this helps!
