Stout Fate, Stout Disaster: Here's a contest for you to enter!

Who remembers Shel Silverstein poem Sarah Cynthia Stout would not take the garbage out? I would spend hours reading each of his poems and copying the matching pictures. My favorite was good old Sara Stout. I am positive that Stout alone made me want to take the garbage out! I think about this poem every time my house gets a little to cluttered, the dishes stacked a little to high, and after stepping on too many of the girl's strewn toys. When I get to this stage, I become almost frantic because the clutter and the mess and things unfinished creep ever so slowly; until it's considered a Stout Disaster.

Today, as I surveyed the house I realized I was coming close to Stout's fate and never being able to get ahead. I would sit in the clutter I once called a home and wish I had cleaned it up. I am resilient in these times! I strap on my tennis shoes (true) and run from room to room cleaning and organizing; putting away and throwing away. If you could only see the hair flying and the soap suds growing - it's quite a site.

In the spirit of Sarah Cynthia Stout, I took a picture of my laundry piled high (it almost touched the sky) and ask you ladies, How long do you think it will take me to fold this giant heap of laundry? This is your challenge, a proposed contest I give to you. Whoever guesses or is closest will receive a friendship pillow, along with a couple other goodies! Just for yoU!

I was inspired to do this contest by two ladies: Anne and Melinda.

Anne - Thanks for putting on such a fun contest! You did such a great job in your race - you've inspired me to get out into the fresh spring air and run again.

Melinda - I saw your photo and heard your plight of 13 loads of laundry. You are a real hero in my book to do that many loads in one day. Thanks for your comments! You both are great!

Here's a recap:
How long will it take to fold all of these clothes?

**The person who guesses or comes the closest wins a friendship pillow and a care package from me.
Do you remember Mr. Silverstein's poems?
How many loads of laundry do you do a day?

How fun is this!!! I will guess 27 minutes. Maybe this will be a motivator for all of us. I have a huge pile of laundry to fold too. I think I will get to it as soon as the kids are off to school. Happy folding! :)

I feel so honores to be mentioned on your blog!! :)

I absolutely HATE folding laundry. In fact, I rarely do it. My clothes usually go straight from the basket onto me. I'm going to guess 48 minutes.

That's quite the pile you've got there, girl! My guess is that it will take you 42 minutes. Good luck!

58 minutes.

Well if you take the circumference of the pile, multiply that times the coefficient of the radius of the tangent and take the square root it would take you approximately 22 minutes, 34 seconds to complete the task. Give or take.

As your sister, I know you better than these other bloggers...I say, 2 days!
It's so funny that everyone has said that they have a similar pile somewhere in their house. I too have a pile, not quite as big as yours. It's on my husbands side of the bed, and will sit there until he comes home tonight. I will then quickly throw it all back in to the basket in which I just dumped it out of.
I bet I can beat you!

37 minutes? is my guess.
Oh, we love Shel Silverstein. My Luci (age 6) has memorized the poem about Abigail who dies of a broken heart because her parents won't buy her a pony.

I'm just barely seeing this post so I hope it's not too late to guess. I think it took you 65 minutes to fold all of that, unless you were interrupted multiple times, then I'd say it probably took all day to do it.

I love Shel Silverstein's poems and remember my 2nd grade teacher reading Sarah Cynthia Stout, I loved it.

I usually do 2 loads of laundry ever other day unless I get crazy and start doing bedding and blankets or something.
