Mailed Inspiration.

I am inspirations #1 fan! I believe that inspiration can be found in any good thing and today it came by mail - goodmail that is! First, lovely Marie sent this package, which came mysteriously wrapped in brown paper and seemed to crunch when a squeezed the box. When I opened it, I found this:

Marie sent me a box of captain crunch with a note saying that she had remembered how much I liked this cereal. I just love her blog and her classic writing sense, thank you Marie for thinking of me!

I pulled out of the mail box the day before a bright orange envelope with Janae's goodmail label. She sent a beautiful card and magnet and included an article she had read in O magazine entitled, "This year you write your novel" by Walter Mosley. Everyday for at least a month, my thoughts have been on writing. Writing what? I kept thinking to myself; I have lots of ideas, but can never finish my ideas and they end-up in the trash. When I opened the envelope, I immediately sat down and read the article. I found so much inspiration in it that I sat down today and wrote from beginning to end a children's story. My goal is to write novels, but my Cici said something so cute the other day - I just had to write about! Every word of this article has inspired me to get my words down without personal judgement. Walter says, "The only thing that matters is that you write, write, write. It doesn't have to be a good writing. As a matter of fact, almost all first drafts are pretty bad. What matters is that you get down the words on the page or the screen." Janae -thank you for thinking of me - it truly meant a lot. So just watch out everybody - my novel is coming soon!!!

  • Thank you so much to Natasha who sent the cute M&M card and some flower stickers - which are already in sticker collection! I appreciate your kind words and so enjoy reading your blog!
  • Thank you to Jenny for the very very cute thank you card :-)
  • Donna - thank you for the cute polka dotted card, your blog always cheers me up!
  • I also have to say to Jill, how grateful I am that she was inspired to share her goodmail experience with us. You've really started something wonderful and inspiring. Thank yoU!

This pattern and material were also received in the mail this week. My brother's fiancee sent this to me - to make. Yikes! Their wedding is in November in Salt Lake City. I'm not sure how I'm going to pull off making this! Any inspiration?!!!

My roots are no longer! Yeah! But can you say - Aargh? I just had one of those days where nothing I did was right and every conversation with the my girls ended in a tantrum or tears. I've been known to cry, but the tears and tantrums were all them. I called my sis, talked in her ear for an hour, and came away with some good "older" sister -sisterly advice. I truly felt like pulling my hair out today, luckily I opted for some quick scrapbooking release.

btw...I'll have a few days before the wedding and would love to meet-up with any of my lovely blogging friends living in the area! Also, if you are interested in the article, it's in the August 2007 issue of O magazine; I can copy it for you and send it too! Let me know!

Who or what has inspired you this week?
Do you share your inspiration with the person that inspired you?

How fun to see your good mail.
One of my employees really inspired me this week. I feel like we butt heads often and then she surprised me with a nice card telling me how much she appreciates working for me and what a good experience it has been for her. That really inspired me as far as work goes. As far as parenting, other people's blogs often inspire me and I try to let them know when they do!

So exciting you got to write a children's story from beginning to end in one day! Do we get to see some of it? Please?

I will be the first in line to buy your novel.

Congratulations on sitting down and writing a story from start to finish, that's so great! I think writing is such a talent and have loved blogging for the experience of daily writing. I used to think I wanted to be an author, but I don't know that I have that in me.

I'm so happy to see all your good mail, it looks wonderful, thoughtful, fun and sweet, hopefully enough to help you cope with all the tantrums going on around you.
